Briefly about…Originally from Houston, Texas, Margaret sang from the time she could walk and as a young girl fell in love with Hollywood films and movie musicals, rushing home to watch old movies on the Million Dollar Movie on TV after school. From the age of 6 she sang in choirs and from her first role as the wicked stepmother in Hansel and Gretel in First Grade, she knew what she wanted to do in life. After graduation with a Communications BA from Trinity University, she moved to New York and studied at Circle in the Square and The Actor's Space, completing a 2-year professional acting program.
Intelligent, mysterious, quirky, classy, poignant, versatile, sincere - all words that have been used to describe Margaret's acting and singing style. Commercially, she resonates integrity, warmth, the mom-next-door, the best friend or loveable, kooky wife. Her voice is warm, believable and accessible. A deep love of life and people and a never-ending quest to examine and understand human behavior leads her to material in all areas of performing: cabaret, musical theatre, theatre, commercials, industrials, voice-overs, recording. Whether through song or spoken text, she is drawn to works that explore and celebrate the human spirit and love, that reveal the stories of how people rise above the problems of life and the human condition to make change and follow their hearts.
In addition to acting, Margaret performs frequently in New York City nightclubs and as a professional entertainer for private parties and benefits in the tri-state area. She is a joyful reader for the SAG-AFTRA BookPALS program.
